At least 12 people were killed and many others injured in a suicide bomb blast in Maroua, capital of Cameroon’s Far-North Region Saturday night.
Witnesses and army sources who declined to be named told Xinhua a woman detonated a bomb attached to her belt around 7:40 p.m. local time in a bar.
It is suspected the attack and previous attacks were made by followers of Nigerian Islamic sect Boko Haram.
After the double suicide bomb blasts on Wednesday, Cameroonian defence and security forces strengthened patrolling and security check in the region.
On July 13, in Fotokol, another town in Far North Region, two suspected Boko Haram female suicide bombers launched suicide bomb blasts, killing themselves and other 13 people, including two Chadian soldiers. Enditem
