Two people were confirmed dead and three others injured in a road accident in Nigeria’s southwest region on Friday, local police said.
The accident occurred along the Ogbomoso-Ilorin road, while passengers were traveling between two states in a minibus, despite a government ban on interstate travels due to the COVID-19 spread in the country.
Chukwurah Uche, the commander for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the southwestern state of Oyo, told Xinhua that the driver of the minibus had lost control of the vehicle and rammed into two stationary motorcycles and a car.
“Two persons on the stationary motorcycles lost their lives on the spot,” Uche added. Enditem
