The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) on Friday announced the commencement of purchases for the 2012 light crop cocoa season from Friday, July 13.

A statement issued by Mr. Anthony Fofie, Chief Executive of COCOBOD in Accra copied to Ghana News Agency said the producer price to be paid at all buying centres was GH97.62 per load of 30 kilogrammes for grade One and Two cocoa beans naked ex-scale or GH?205 per bag of 64 kilogrammes.

A tonne of 16 bags is GH?3,280.
