Speaking at the just concluded WEF on Africa 2016 in the Rwandan capital, Kigali, Pravin Gordhan, South African finance minister said that the 27th WEF will take place next year in the country.
“We shall inform you about the city where it will take place in the due course. South Africa is excited to host the high level meeting on Africa economic affairs,” he noted.
Rwanda hosted the 26th WEF from Wednesday to Friday, under the theme “Connecting Africa’s Resources through Digital Transformation.”
It attracted more than 1,500 delegates from Africa and beyond, including heads of states and governments, Chief executives of global and regional Corporations, and technology experts and enthusiasts.
Gordhan noted the next WEF will be evaluating what has been implemented following what was discussed during this year’s meeting.
“We should start measuring ourselves, demonstrating our ambitions that Africa rising narrative is not a dream, but is actually taking root in the soils of Africa,” he said.
South Africa had previously hosted the WEF on Africa. Enditem
