The founder and General Overseer of the Overcomers Royal Sanctuary (ORS) in Agona Swedru in the Central Region, Apostle Joshua Kobina Darko Spokewel, has advised self-acclaimed prophets in the country who take advantage of national presidential and parliamentary elections to pronounce who will emerge victorious to desist from the practice.

The lecturer in Mystical Studies said that election-time prophecies tend to incite violence, especially when political tensions are high in the country.

Addressing his congregation last Sunday, Apostle Joshua Spokewel admonished the electorates not to allow politicians to induce them to plunge Ghana into violence to achieve their parochial interest.

He said the election is about ideologies which are exhibited through voting by the power of the thumb and not a period of exhibiting one’s power of strength.

He called on all political parties to advise their supporters to refrain from any acts that cause violence, especially before, during and after the December 7 polls.

The servant of God again advised commercial drivers to be cautious during the yuletide season to ensure an accident-free occasion.
