The Nigerian nationals, according to the police, are Chikelu Tobechukwu Samson, 33, Nkwocha Peter Emeka, 45, and Nmoruka Samuel Obumneme, 38.

They made friends with local women on social networks, then promised to come to Vietnam to marry them. They told the ladies that they had sent cash or gifts to them, and asked them to pay some transport or customs fees via bank accounts.
Initial investigations showed that at least 21 Vietnamese women have sent more than 71,000 U.S. dollars in total to the three Nigerian swindlers.
The police have detained two local residents who opened bank accounts for the Nigerian swindlers and got a 10-percent commission in exchange. Enditem
