The selected Brave Warriors players start training Sunday.

Ricardo Mannetti has called mostly locally-based players and new ones whom he said should be exposed to the game at an international level.

The Four Nations tournament includes Zambia, Angola and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

“Local-based players have the challenge of pushing into the team and this tournament will give me a chance to look at a lot of players I worked with and have not worked with.

“It gives us more action and this can only improve the team going forward and competing in further African Nations Championship (Chan) qualifiers.

“It is a platform to increase the pool of players and to also further assess the readiness and quality of some players as far as the team is concerned,” he said in a statement.

“The competition too will be good for those players who will form part of the Brave Warriors team to play Guinea in World Cup qualifiers, so this is perfect timing for us,” said Mannetti.

According to Mannetti, the Four Nations tournament will help the team to prepare for the Brave Warriors 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Guinea on Nov. 12 in Windhoek as well as the second leg on Nov. 17 in Morocco. Enditem
