Three institutions have donated cash and items in support of the celebration of farmers in the Asante-Akim South Municipality at this year’s farmers’ day.

The Produce Buying Company (PBC) and the Juaso branch of the GCB Bank gave cash of GHȼ500.00 each while the Mponua Rural Bank made available a box of machete.

These were handed over to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Alexander Frimpong, at a ceremony in Juaso.

He applauded the gesture and said it would aid the successful organization of the event.

The MCE invited other corporate bodies to do same to appreciate the farmers for their hard work that had over the years kept the economy going.

Mr. Isaac Aboagye Nyame, Deputy General Manager of Mponua Rural Bank, said they were proud to be associated with the celebration of the farmers.

He added that quite a number of their customers were farmers and that it was only proper they joined the rest of the country to say thank you and recognize them for their enormous contribution to the nation’s growth.
