3 killed, 5 injured following four-storey building collapse in Benin

A four-storey building collapse on late Wednesday in Benin's economic capital Cotonou has killed three people and left five others injured, according to Xinhua reporters at the site on Thursday.

The building is under construction near Degakon crossroad in Akpakpa neighborhoods in the capital Cotonou.

Testimonies gathered on spot said the tragedy occurred while workers were pouring the upper concrete slab. The exact number of workers at the site when the incident occurred could not be established immediately.

Rescue services, fire services and security forces, are actively searching for survivors. Enditem
