4 new faces included in Black Stars squad to face Canada

USA-based midfielder duo of Llyod Sam and Kwadwo Poku get their first international call-ups after excelling in the American top-flight this season.

Germany-based defender Phil Ofosu-Ayeh is also named in the Black Stars squad for the first time as well as Finland-based former Kotoko defender Gideon Baah.

Sassuolo midfielder Alfred Duncan gets another chance to impress in the Black Stars after the Italy-based enforcer had a previous stint with the national team.

The squad is dominated by regular Black Stars players like goalkeeper Razak Brimah, John Boye and Leicester City left-back Jeff Schlupp. Italy-based midfielders Agyemang Badu and Afriyie Acquah as well as Mubarak Wakaso and make the list.

Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew and Abdul Majeed Waris and David Accam were also named by Avram Grant.
The Black Stars will take on Canada at the RFK Stadium in Washington DC.

The match will kick off on Tuesday at 7:30pm and forms part of the Black Stars’ preparation for next month’s 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
