The project, which is the initiated of the Member of Parliament for the Agona West Constituency Charles Obeng Inkoom with financial assistant from a Non-Governmental Organization [NGO], when completed would not only help improve health delivery service in the Municipality and its surrounding villages and towns, but would also help create employment opportunities in the area.
This was disclosed when the MP, Charles Obeng Inkoom paid a courtesy on the Chiefs and leaders of the town during a visit to the site.
Already, the Chiefs have released a 100 acre land for the construction of the project.
Receiving the delegation during the visit, the Chief of Agona Swedru who is also the Adontenhen of the Agona Nyakrom Traditional Area, Ogidigram Asiedu Kobina Botwe II expressed appreciation on behalf of the Chiefs and people of the town, and expressed optimism that the project will help provide quality health care delivery in the area.
Briefing newsmen after the visit, the MP, Charles Obeng Inkoom hinted that more projects are to be constructed in the town by the NDC government to help create employment for people in the area, particularly the youth.
He further hinted that when completed, the current Municipal Hospital would be transferred to the new hospital and its facility would be used as Nurses Training College where nurses and other paramedical staff would be trained to feed new the hospital.
