42 Year Old Trader Who Outsmarted Colleague Arrested


wpid-Arrested-crime.jpgA 42-year-old trader, Gloria Michael, who allegedly duped a contributor to a weekly savings of N46, 000, was?on Tuesday?charged before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
Michael, who resides at No. 33, Subuola St., Dopemu, Agege, Lagos, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, fraud and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Sgt Paul Inedu, said that the accused and others at large conspired to commit the offence at her residence sometime in February 2012.
He said that the accused over a period fraudulently obtained a total of N46, 000 from Mrs Favour Emenike.
According to him, Michael had over some time collected N2,000 weekly from Emenike.
He said that when it was time for the complainant to take her contributions, the accused failed to give her the money.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Section 285, 312 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges against her.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the accused is liable to fifteen years imprisonment, if convicted.
The Magistrate, Mrs A Ipaye-Nwachukwu, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000, with two sureties in like sum.
