The Attorney General?s Department has begun investigations into the authenticity of the letter purportedly written by the lady at the center of the rape scandal involving ace broadcaster Kwasi Kyei Darkwah (KKD).

Ewureffe Orleans Thompson who was pressing charges against the fashion icon in a surprising twist of events, wrote to the Chief Justice on Tuesday stating her decision to discontinue with the case.

Deputy Director of Prosecutions at the AG?s department Cynthia Lamptey told the media, Thursday, that the source of the letter must be probed.

She noted that the said letter will not hinder the State?s decision to pursue the case to its logical conclusion.

Meanwhile, an Accra Human Rights court has granted bail to the fashion icon.

The bail bond was set at 20,000 cedis with two sureties to be justified.
Ms Thompson filed a charge against KKD on the night of December 27, 2014 after the two had spent some time together with friends and family members at the African Regent Hotel within the Airport Residential Area.

She accused the fashion icon and 49-year-old father of two of forcefully having sexual intercourse with her in the bathroom of one of the hotel suites.

KKD and his lawyers denied the accusation and insisted the sexual intercourse was ?consensual?.
