A MAN diesel truck experiencing brake failure collided with a Toyota Corolla taxi cab at Obuasi Amangoase in the Ashanti region, resulting in significant damage to the taxi but no injuries to passengers.
The incident occurred when the truck, registered as GR 2714-X and driven by Musah Fuseini, 32, was transporting logs from Fenaso to Domeabra. Upon approaching Amangoase, the driver lost control, causing the truck to collide with the taxi cab bearing registration number GW 5088-11, driven by Bernard Nsiah.
Despite the severity of the collision, Bernard Nsiah’s quick thinking and skillful maneuvering prevented harm to the passengers onboard. However, the taxi sustained extensive damage as a result.
Eyewitnesses reported that Musah Fuseini, the truck driver, attempted to alert other drivers as he struggled to control the vehicle due to brake failure.
Local authorities are proactively investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the brake failure and ensure measures are in place to prevent similar accidents, reassuring the public.
