The Immediate Past GRASAG UEW Gender Commissioner, Abiba Asoma has embarked on another benevolence exercise by organizing free Icecream training for 50 women in Tamale.
The event dubbed: “Farmer’s Day Hangout with the past immediate GENCOM of GRASAG UEW Abiba Asoma” was aimed at equipping the participants with entrepreneurial skills that would help them to become economically independent.
In an interview with Abiba Asoma, she noted that the main purpose of this training is to change and impact more lives and also address the high unemployment rate in the country.
According to her, the unemployment rate has risen as a result of Covid-19.
The circumstance has caused hardship for countless homes, deepening the country’s poverty situation by about eleven percent in just a year.
Women’s skilled training has been identified as an important strategy of improving their livelihoods and offering a path out of
“Acquiring skills is really crucial as a woman since it will provide you with other financial assistance,” she emphasized.
She expressed hope, that the largely unemployed youth will be able to find work after the training.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Immediate Past GRASAG UEW Gender Commissioner for organizing such a generous event, saying that they would use the skills they had gained to generate income for their families.
