El Kanemi Warriors walloped ABS FC 4-1 in a Nigeria league Week 10 game played at the El Kanemi Stadium in Maiduguri on Thursday.
El Kanemi are now 16th on the 20-team table with 12 points from 10 matches, while ABS FC occupy the 17th position from same number of games.?
El Kanemi vice chairman Modu Adamu Bata said that his team deserved to win.?
“It was a great game and good victory for us. We all know what victory does, it has lifted our spirits. We had good signings at week 9 and it showed in this game,” he said.?
ABS FC media officer Bashir Jimoh said they ought not to have lost by such a wide margin but for two bad goals allowed by the referee.?
“We are not supposed to lose by such margin, the first and second goals were offside and hand ball but the referee allowed the. The last two goals were good goals. What can we do? We just have to accept the result and move forward,”Jimoh said.
El Kanemi newly signed striker Okpokwu Ebube opened scoring in the second minute before returnee striker Ezekiel Thompson doubled the home team?s lead in the 31st minute to end the first half 2-0.?
Reuben Ogbonnaya scored a cracking free kick in the 50th minute, before Ebube? completed his brace with? a 68th minute strike.?
ABS consolation goal was scored by newly signed Otegbeye Ajibola in the 89th minute.
