Aduana stars on the tails of Ashgold

The First Capital Plus Premier League took a new twist on Wednesday as

leaders AshantiGold saw their profligate lead on the log cut to a single

point by 2010/2011 champions Aduana Stars after week 26.

The soccer miners, AshantiGold were held to a 0-0 drawn game by Bechem

United whilst Aduana Stars defeated Sekondi Hasaacas 2-0 at the Agyemang

Badu Park in Dormaa which means that a further slip by the leaders could see

Aduana leapfrog to the summit of the ladder.

At the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman, Accra, relegation threatened Hearts of

Oak picked all three maximum points from city rivals Liberty Professionals

courtesy Foovi Aguidi?s goal late in the first half.

Great Olympics gave Berekum Chelsea a shock of their lives when they came

from a goal down to beat the visitors 4-2 at the Accra Sports stadium, but the

irony of it is that both Olympics and Hearts of Oak could not move up on the

league log despite recording wins in their respective matches.

The wonder club, Great Olympics is fourteenth on the league table with 33

points whilst Hearts of Oak are rooted at the fifteenth spot with 32 points.

The Porcupine Warriors, Asante Kotoko continued their winning streak as

they picked a 3-1 win over All Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to move

up to the fifth position.

At the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, New Edubiase United had to dip their hands

very deep in the suck to settle for a 2-2 drawn game with ever impressive

Inter Allies.

New entrant, West African Football Academy (WAFA) went down 1-2 to

Medeama SC at the Tarkwa T&A Park despite taking an early lead through

Zakaria Mumuni.

At the Kpando Park, Hearts of Lions did not show mercy to relegation bound

B.A United as they hammered them 5-0.
