Asamoah Gyan, captain of the Black Stars, has quashed reports that, he packed out of the teams hotel, after a captaincy bust-up with his deputy Andre Ayew, on Monday evening.
The camp of the team, was hit with reports that, the captain parked out of the hotel in the late hours of Monday, a day before their game against Uganda, after having a bust-up with his deputy over the captains band.
The story carried by an unknown website, was also carried by a popular website in Ghana, www.ghanaweb.com.
Gyan, told the GNA Sports that, the reports were false and that, they were aimed at dampening the morale of the players in camp.
“There is nothing like that, I just returned from prayers with my colleagues and we are about entering our rooms to rest and prepare for the match.
“I am very sure it is one of these mushroom websites, which published that falsehood.
“They just want to use such stories to promote and popularize their sites but that is unprofessional.” He told the GNA Sports on Monday evening.
Gyan, earlier said at a pre-match press conference that, the atmosphere in camp was that of friendliness and unity.
He said the players are together adding that “it will be difficult to notice who the leader is even anyone gets to the camp of the team.
“It is only those who know me as the captain, will see the difference, aside that we are together and seeking top win the trophy for Ghana.” Gyan said.
