Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani left here on Saturday for a two-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, the country’s Presidential Palace said.
The Afghan leader will meet Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud besides holding meetings with other Saudi officials, the palace said in a statement.
The president is accompanied by National Security Advisor Mohammad Anif Atmar, Mohammad Khan, first deputy to chief executive officer, Presidential Spokesman Ajmal Obaid Abidi, head of High Peace Council’s Secretariat Mohammad Masoom Stanikzai, among others, the statement noted.
The trip came after a number of recent reports over the start of peace negotiations between the government and Taliban members. Enditem
