African growth

Africa’s economic promise is palpable, with Botswana seeing real economic growth of 8.7 per cent in 2021, Côte d’Ivoire, Rwanda and the Gambia growing over 6 per cent and Kenya at 4.7 per cent.

“Africa’s economic promise is palpable, while key European economies, such as Germany, are only expected to grow by 2.1 per cent and the EU’s forecast growth is estimated at 4.8 per cent in 2021, dropping to 4.5 per cent in 2022, MARCO Branding and Reputation Specialists based in Madrid have affirmed.

Mr Didier Lagae, MARCO Founder and Chief Executive Officer stated during the official announcement of the acquisition of stake in the Africa Communications Media Group (ACG) which is the first African-owned, Pan-African communications and strategic reputation management firm servicing global and regional clients made available to the Ghana News Agency in Tema.

He revealed that the top five economies in sub-Saharan Africa with the highest GDP – Nigeria $514 billion; South Africa $330 billion; Kenya $106 billion; Ethiopia $100 billion; and Ghana $74 billion – offer huge potential for expansion within the communications sector.

Mr Lagae said based on the huge economic potential of Africa, MARCO is acquiring the stake in ACG to position them to transform and lead in the continent’s projections.

He said MARCO, is the most awarded agency in the last decade, specialising in brand building and reputation management which seeks to expand its communication capabilities across the African continent as ACG positions itself to service clients globally.

“MARCO has a strong leadership base in the Maghreb region, which has seen the agency successfully supporting prolific African clients as well as global clients’ communication needs in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region from its office in Casablanca, Morocco.

“In addition, MARCO services well over 100 clients from its now 16 offices owned globally”.

Ms Mimi Kalinda ACG Founder and CEO said, “we are now in a position to implement communication support to both sub-Saharan Africa and the Maghreb region.

“In addition, MARCO has a global outreach through its additional 16 offices worldwide and its affiliated presence in 100 markets outside of Africa.

“ACG being part of the MARCO family translates into real opportunities for our clients to not only build their reputations and brands in Africa but also well beyond the continent’s frontiers.

“By developing a presence and a reputation in Europe, most notably in Brussels, Paris and London, as well as in Washington DC and New York, we are now available and accessible to our clients.

“I am also pleased to combine my personal expertise in powerful country brand building with Didier’s unmatched experience and knowledge, as well-articulated in his book ‘A Country Brand, a Branded Country’.”
