Construction has begun on the Agape Road in the Ga Central Municipality, offering relief to motorists after repeated demonstrations by residents demanding repairs.
The road, stretching from Baah Yard to Ablekuma Road, particularly suffered from Pentecost Junction to Gbawe, prompting significant protests in December 2021 to draw attention to its deteriorating condition.
Current efforts include resuming drainage construction, which was halted during the NDC administration, to address the community’s long-standing concerns.
While welcomed by residents and motorists alike, expectations are high for the project’s timely completion, emphasizing the need for sustained infrastructure improvements beyond election cycles.
Rev. Charles Koomson, representing the Agape Top Landlords Association, advocates for ongoing infrastructure investments not limited by electoral timelines, echoing sentiments shared by the local Assembly Member Joseph Abbey.
Ambrose Edward Tsegah, Municipal Chief Executive of Ga Central, reaffirms the government’s commitment to finalizing the Agape road repairs within six months.
