Fast improving tertiary institution, Accra Institute of Technology (AIT) has held a mammoth matriculation for its 2013 class at the Christ the King Hall in Accra.

The event attracted high-powered members from the academia as well as a large following from the student body.

President of AIT, Professor Clement K Dzidonu, in his address indicated ??we will not disappoint you. I am sure you know by now that your short journey through the AIT system will not be an easy one. I must confess, it was not meant to be an easy one.

?But we are confident we have all the resources to support your teaching and learning process here and you will make it as others before you did. With focus and will-power, you too can live up to the high educational standard of AIT modelled on the best in the world.

?During your studies at this university, you will be part of one of the leading technology-focused and student-centred academic institution in the country, surrounded by teachers, scholars and researchers-faculty and fellow students.

?One of the most distinctive aspects of the AIT experience is the opportunity to engage fully with your lectures. At AIT, we don?t tell students. You have to learn to think for yourselves. Our teaching is designed to produce intellectually self-reliant individuals,? said Professor Dzidonu.

He assured the matriculating students of the enormous opportunities to deepen their education, expand their understanding of society and the world and the necessary academic and professional skills that would launch their respective careers.

He charged the students to set high academic standards for themselves and live up to them, strive to understand, be circumspect in choosing friends among other virtues.

Chairman of AIT Board of trustees and special guest of honour, Professor Francis K.A Allotey,  stated ? Break out of that mould and enjoy the diversity of your classmates, who bring to this university community, cultures, beliefs and experiences you have never encountered before. A university is a melting point of diversity of experiences and talents, do take advantage of this to enrich your own experience and knowledge.?

The school, currently located in Cantonments offers various degree programmes such as  B Eng in electrical and electronic engineering, BEng in Civil  engineering, BSc in computer Science, Diploma of Technology, etc.
