He will play Algrim, the strongest of the dark elves, in the sequel
British actor and former fashion model, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has joined the cast of ‘Thor: The Dark World’.
Directed by Alan Taylor, the sequel to 2011’s Thor brings back most of the first movie’s cast; Kat Dennings, Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsg?rd, Idris Elba and Rene Russo.
Akinnuoye-Agbaje, in a supporting role, will be joining the ranks of the bad guys led by Christopher Eccleston (Malekith), ruler of the dark elves of Svartalfheim.
He will play Algrim the Strong/Kurse, one of the strongest of the dark elves who is coerced to fight Thor at Malekith’s behest.
Since he began acting in 1994, Akinnuoye-Agbaje has had numerous film credits and appeared in many top films. He played Hitu in 1995’s Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls; Nykwana Wombosi in ‘The Bourne Identity’; Lock-Nah in ‘The Mummy Returns’; Majestic in 50 Cent’s autobiography ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’; and Heavy Duty in ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’.
He is best known for his roles as Simon Adebisi in the 1990s HBO prison series ‘Oz’, and Mr. Eko on ABC’s survivor drama ‘Lost’.
‘Thor: The Dark World’ is scheduled to be released on November 8, 2013.
