The NPP fanatics must hold their breath because their so-called Presidential Candidate who calls himself Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is empty. Never believe all the accolades given to this man because he is simply not, what his closest pals claim he is. Nana Akufo-Addo is a phony, a deceitful person, and a former spy for the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC).
Can Ghanaians believe if I say with all certainty, that Akufo-Addo was the brain behind the arrest and incarceration of Mr Kwame Pianim, an Investment Consultant, for planning a coup in 1982 to overthrow Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings from power? It was Akufo-Addo who secretly tipped off the PNDC leading to the arrest of Kwame Pianim.
We have prominent NPP people who were also arrested and put in protective or police custody during the heat of the PNDC days for their suspicious political activities. Notably among those arrested and detained for questioning were Ex-President JA Kufuor, Mr Kwadwo Mpianim, Mr JH Mensah, and Mr KG Osei Bonsu among others. Again, I want to put it on record that it was Nana Akufo-Addo, who mingled freely with these NPP stalwarts, and later secretly reported their activities to the security operatives and got them arrested.
I do not hate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. What I rather hate about Akufo-Addo is his double standards, violent nature, his non-compromising nature towards other views, his autocratic nature, and his holier-than-thou attitude.
The NPP folks keep saying that Akufo-Addo is incorruptible. They claim that Akufo-Addo has a clean record. But has anybody in Ghana paused to ask why in the heat of the PNDC days a lot of prominent NPP figures who made a lot of political noise were either arrested or invited by the police, yet the only person in living memory who was never invited or arrested is Akufo-Addo?
How come Akufo-Addo who mingled with all these NPP stalwarts and made a lot of threatening noise, was never arrested or invited by the police, or spent even two minutes behind police cells? Has any Ghanaian paused to find out the reason? Have those who were arrested also pondered over this? Has anything crossed Kufuor’s, JH Mensah’s, Kwame Pianim’s, or Kwadwo Mpianim’s mind as to why Akufo-Addo was the only prominent noise-maker who was never arrested or questioned by the police or security operatives during the strong days of the PNDC?
Akufo-Addo became a deep seated spy who spied on the activities of his colleagues and passed on the information to the security operatives for favours. Do you know that Akufo-Addo at a point in time schemed unsuccessfully to be appointed the Attorney General under Rawlings? Do you know why Akufo-Addo is so close to Captain Kojo Tsikata? Just connect the dots and you will understand where I am coming from.
Let Akufo-Addo come out and deny this hot story. Akufo-Addo is a former spy leading the same group of people he spied on for favours. Akufo-Addo is a bad person! And NPP is better off without such a bad character called Akufo-Addo.
For the spy work that he did for the PNDC, Akufo-Addo brought to Ghana a cable company from Netherlands called NKF, and fronted for them. This company was given a contract worth over $600,000 USD as a pay-back for the spy work Akufo-Addo did. The NKF was contracted to dig and lay telephone cables in Accra. But after some diggings in Accra many Ghanaians can testify that NKF laid no cables, thus Akufo-Addo and the NKF cashed a total amount of $600,000 USD for no work done.
This is the kind of dubious person being touted as a patriot and genuine person by some NPP folks. Akufo-Addo is no saint. Let him come out and swear that he never spied on any NPP person or caused their arrest. Akufo-Addo has never been a true NPP person.
If Akufo-Addo who has feuded with Kufuor for so many years and even played a role in his arrest during the PNDC days is elected president of Ghana, imagine what will become of Kufuor and his family. I always laugh my head off when I see Alan Kyeremanten campaigning with Akufo-Addo who hates him so much. Alan is just wasting his time. Akufo-Addo does not like Alan one bit.
Remember Akufo-Addo bolted the Popular Front Party (PFP) then under the flagbearership of Victor Owusu during the 1979 general elections with his uncle William Ofori Atta (Paa Willie) to form the United Convention Party. This was after the PFP did not elect Paa Willie as its leader to contest the general elections in 1979. Such a petty character today is saying that he loves NPP more than anybody does, and that he has contributed more to the success of the NPP more than anybody else has.
Akufo-Addo is a fraud who can never be trusted. He is the biggest headache of the NPP today. But majority of the NPP folks are just silent!
