Perhaps the most prestigious arts exhibition in the city, Akwaabytes, will run from tonight 1st October from 6pm with an exclusive soiree boasting guest list that comprises the cr?me de la cr?me of Ghanaian society from business to politics to art. The Exhibition will run till 8th October.
AKWAABYTES? theme is inspired by digital connections, chain reactions and the ubiquitous sound-bites and snappy chatter of social media. The works being presented are ?stand-alone? units or ?digits? that can be woven into a greater whole, but with no restrictions on medium.
Patrons to the exhibition can look forward to strange alliances and pieces crafted in audio, wearable formats, plastic, metal, wood, photography, film, paint and paper, from a radical and inspired group of creatives including Nana Anoff, Panji Anoff, Nii Obodai, Rania Odaymat and Nada Moukarzel.
This year the artists are joined and inspired by Lebanese artist Jean-Marc Nahas, who will arrive for the first time in West Africa to partake in the show and create some of his pieces in real time
The AKWAABYTES exhibition is conceived and curated by BEYOND COLLECTIVE founding member Rania Odaymat, and hosted by La Maison founder Nada Moukarzel.
