Cambridge United boss Richard Money says striker Kwesi Appiah has powered his career after his excellent display in the just ended cup of Nations where Ghana finished second.

The Crystal Palace striker who is on loan at English lower tier side Cambridge United scored a goal in the quarter final game against Guinea and assisted another in the semi-final clash against host Equatorial Guinea.

Appiah also played almost the entire final game where Ghana eventually lost to the Ivory Coast on penalties.

His club coach Money backs him to go on flourish at both club and national level after his exploits.

?He has definitely powered his career and we were monitoring his performance during the competition,? Money told the media

?He initially struggled to make the team but once he was in it, it was always getting better for him.

?I don?t know what he was expecting after making the team but he has definitely taken full advantage of the opportunity.

?We expect him to continue his development.?

Appiah was a surprise inclusion into Ghana?s squad but is expected to form a core-member of the squad after his exploits at the Cup of Nations.
