Alan Kyerematen, founder and leader of the Movement for Change, has confidently stated that his name and face resonate more widely across Ghana than those of the flagbearers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In an interview on the Citi Breakfast Show on Citi FM, Kyerematen emphasised the extensive reach of his popularity, claiming that there is no village in Ghana where he is not recognised by name or face. “There is no village in Ghana where Alan will not be recognised either by face or by my name, and neither of the two candidates Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and John Dramani Mahama have that level of penetration in the country,” he asserted confidently.

Reflecting on his long-standing presence in Ghanaian politics and his close association with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Kyerematen highlighted the widespread affection he garners from the people. “I have been around, and this is true everywhere, and this is my assessment. There is no election that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo went that you will not find Alan standing side by side with him and on the ground. The people love Alan,” he added.

Kyerematen also alluded to a spiritual dimension to his candidacy, suggesting a divine calling to leadership. “There is some spirituality about leadership when people say it is God who makes kings, and it is real, and that is why I have bid my time, and this is the time,” he shared.

Expressing confidence in his appeal across partisan lines, Kyerematen indicated that many Ghanaians are disenchanted with the NDC and NPP and are ready for a change represented by his candidacy. “I have gone round the country, and 70 to 80 per cent of people say that they are tired of the NDC and the NPP, but if Alan is coming, they will change their minds and vote,” he proclaimed.

As Kyerematen prepares for the upcoming elections, his assertions underscore his belief in his broad-based support and readiness to lead Ghana into a new political era.
