Reports say the embattled NDC financial, Alfred Agbesi Woyome has finally been released from Criminal Investigations Department (CID) cells five days after securing bail.
His aide Kwame Tawiah has confirmed the news this evening, exclaiming “Glory be to God”.
Woyome’s lawyers have met the conditions of his bail bond which they pleaded with the court to commute to GHC 20 million with three sureties form the initial pronouncement of GHC 54 million with two sureties.
Sources say his lawyers fined the revised bail condition of GHC20 million and three sureties still on the high side.
Mr Woyome was implicated by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) report which instituted by the President to investigate the payment of GHC51 million as judgement debt by the State to the self-styled NDC bankroller.
Together with three others, he faces charges including c conspiracy to commit crime, defrauding by false pretence and corrupting public officials.
