Alhaj Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih calls for patriotic citizenship

Alhaj Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, the Head and Missionary, Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, to pursue the course of patriotism for the development of the country.

That, he said, was necessary because it helps morally in the development of sympathy towards the plight of the suffering masses in society.

The Head of the Mission made the call on Saturday in a sermon during the Eid-Ul-Adha celebration in Accra.

The act of patriotism, he said brought people together in trying times, saying “it is these realities which can make a case for us to be rather selfless and God fearing in our approach to patriotic governance.”

Alhaj Salih said the first 10 days of the last month of the Islamic calendar were ones which all pilgrims travelled to Mecca as a spiritual journey to bring them closer to God.

He said the Hajj occasion was a ceremony which stood out as a practical conglomerate of all the necessary processes by which the people of the world were incorporated into a society.

The journey, he said was a period for intensified remembrance of God and for repentance and called on all especially Muslims to asked for forgiveness with a genuine mood of regrets.

“The Hajj is a globalization drive that demonstrates the true nature of humanity.It links mankind in an effective way that local happenings begin to be shaped by past events,” he said.

He stressed ” Hajj provides a comparative advantage to all Muslims in as much as it helps to create multiple contact lines among people of different lands and cultures.”

Alhaj Salih admonished Muslims to attached seriousness to the Hajj journey because the rites brought about a transformation in the organisation of social linkages.
