Kwesi Nyantakyi has been accused of paying bribes to journalists

Owner of Ghanaian second tier side Amidaus Professionals has launched a shocking attack on sports journalists in the country claiming they have been bribed by Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi to ‘cover up the rot in the game’.

Alhaji Ahmed Gedo says sports journalists in the country must also be held responsible for legal issues, sponsorship and marketing challenges of the game in the country because they are intentionally refusing to hold the GFA to account.

He made this claim even though Nyantakyi has emerged as the most insulted person on sports radio stations while several sports programmes are overly critical of the federation.

Gedo claims Nyantakyi pays bribes to journalists and says he will expose the journalists who collect such payments to cover up what he claims is the truth.

“Football in Ghana is losing its relevance and you journalist are sitting idle as the game wears out. You journalists are afraid of Nyantakyi and that’s why the game is gradually falling.” Gedo told Boss FM in Kumasi.

“Some journalists go to the GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi for money and that is influencing their decision to be quiet on the truth else they will lose the financial assistance from the FA.

“At the appropriate time I’ll expose all of them (journalists) who have bent over for the FA and it is our game that is suffering.” he added.

The owner of Amidaus Professionals is angered by the decision of the Disciplinary Committee to clear Dreams FC to play in the Ghana top-flight in a tussle over the status of a player in the case involving Tema Youth.
