Egypt captain Wael Gomaa is banking on his side?s superior record over non-North African teams to qualify his team for the 2014 World Cup at the expense of Ghana.

The Pharaohs are tasked with the herculean task of taking out Ghana in the final round of qualifiers in order to return to the World Cup finals after drawing the Black Stars on Monday.

Egypt remain the only side with a 100 percent record in the series and stand an equal chance of qualification as Ghana for next year?s grand event in Brazil.

The experienced Al Ahly stopper is now counting on Egypt?s good fortune against non-Arab African sides to oust Ghana in the most difficult tie in the playoffs.

?The best thing is that we have avoided North Africa?s Arab nations,? Gomaa said.

?We always play better against non-Arab African sides; I think we have a bit of luck against them.?

Egypt crucially have the second leg match of the tie at their home grounds and therefore must manage to secure a favourable result against the star-studded Black Stars team in their first away leg.
