Honourable Mohammed Adjei Sowah, boss at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has thrown his weight behind the organisers of the 2019 Ga Homowo Beach Soccer Tournament which takes place at the Laboma Beach Resort on Saturday and Sunday, September 28 and 29.

The Mayor of Accra was at one of the meetings to plan the tournament and he gave assurance that he backs the initiative to keep the city clean to keep people healthy and fit.

Top beach soccer players would be representing teams from Ada, Tema, Nungua, Teshie, La, Osu, James Town, Korle Gonno, Chorkor and Dansoman.

There would also be young players who are interested in playing the game and the national team who would be featured.

Sammy Heywood Okine, Communications Manager of Beach Sports Consult who are organising the event said the Tournament would be played in honour of two late personalities, Adams of La Wuo Gbee Club and a goalkeeper of Keta.

He said they decided to organise the annual event to keep the Ga Adange people together through sports and also educate the people living in the capital to keep the city clean and tidy.

Mr. Okine noted that the tournament is also to keep the game alive and also make players active.

He commended the executives of Ghana Beach Soccer Association (GBSA) for finding their way into the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and would be given a seat at the Congress.

Meanwhile, former Mayor of Accra, Honourable Alfred Okoe Vanderpujie, who is MP for Ablekuma South Constituency and Honourable Nii Lantey Vanderpuije, MP for Odododiodoo Constituency have plagded their support for the tournament.
