The Ambassador J.K Mensah Foundation has donated quantities of books and pens to school children in Antoa and its surrounding communities in the Kwabre East Municipality.
A total of 5,000 pieces of exercise books and boxes of pens were donated to the schools through the district education office to be distributed to the school children to help facilitate teaching and learning in the area.
Dr Alexis Frimpong Nimoh, Chairman of the Foundation, told the Ghana News Agency after the donation that, some pupils in the area struggle to get access to learning materials.
The board of the Foundation therefore decided to put smiles on the faces of such pupils to inspire them to study hard at school.
He explained that education was critical in the life of every individual and that it could only be realized when society set the fundamentals right by creating an enabling environment for children to unlock their potential.
Dr Nimoh noted that inadequate learning materials such as books and pens had been a major problem impeding teaching and learning in the area.
He therefore called on other philanthropists to help the schools by donating learning and teaching materials to them.
