Grace Addo (far left) presenting the ambulance
THE MANSO Health Directorate in the Amansie West constituency of the Ashanti region has taken delivery of a brand new ambulance.
The timely donation was made possible through the benevolence of the Member of Parliament (MP) of the area, Grace Addo.
The law maker said she used part of her MP?s NHIS Fund to purchase the GH?30,000 vehicle.
She observed how precious lives were lost in the area in the past due to the lack of an ambulance to ferry critically ill persons to the hospital for proper medical care.
She said the problem influenced her decision to do everything possible to provide an ambulance for the area to halt the preventable deaths.
Ms. Addo expressed hope that her donation would go a long way to help transport ill persons to the hospital on time.
The Amansie West MP deplored the poor road networks in the area which had led to the district being cut off from the rest of the country.
She said Amansie West was retarding in growth basically due to the bad road situation, urging government to construct better roads for the people.
Dominic Dobbin, Amansie West District Health Director after taking delivery of the ambulance, pledged to use it for its intended purpose.
He promised to ensure proper maintenance of the vehicle, thanking the MP for her timely assistance.
