Amen and Amen Institute, a non-governmental organization (NGO), has donated GH¢10,000 to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) to support the 2024 World Food Day (WFD) celebration.
Scheduled for October 16, 2024, this year’s theme is “The Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future: Leave No One Behind.”
Ghana will join other United Nations member nations in observing the 44th World Food Day with a flag-raising ceremony in Accra.

Over the years, the Amen Amen Institute has partnered with the United Nations for the annual World Food Day celebration to promote activities that ensure food safety.
Mr. Gilbert Xorlanyo Ampeh, Deputy Director of Finance and Administration at MOFA, received the donation on behalf of Mr. Yaw Frimpong Addo, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Chair of the 2024 World Food Day Planning Committee.
He commended the institute’s founder for the generous contribution and their ongoing collaboration with the ministry, assuring that the funds would be used as intended.
Planned activities for the celebration include a float through the main streets of Accra, television and radio talk shows, and commemorative events at the forecourt of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
