Mr. Peter Yaw Kwakye Ackah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Amenfi Central, has donated some sanitary items to the Amenfi Central District Health Directorate to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the District.
The items include, 100 veronica buckets, 100 washing basins, 160 alcoholic based sanitizers, 150 bottles of liquid soap, 100 tissues and 100 cakes of medicated soaps.
Donating the items, Mr. Ackah was optimistic that the items would go a long way to help members in the Constituency to fight the virus.
He said the government had put in place a number of preventive measures to stem the spread of the COVID-19, and that they must also do their best to prevent its spread by adhering to all the laid down protocols.
The MP said they should particularly abide by the protocols by staying at home, practice social distancing of at least two metres, washing of hands with soap under running water and the use of hand sanitizers.
He said the District had however not recorded any COVID-19 case, but that it was risky for them not to protect themselves.
The MP called on the public to come on board to support the health service with the needed resources, especially Personal protective equipment, so that they would be able to give of their best in such trying times.
Receiving the items, Mr. Boahulu Francis, the District Health Promotion Officer, expressed his gratitude to the MP and promised that his outfit
would make sure the items were distributed to the appropriate places.
He appealed to other stakeholders to also play their part by helping them get enough PPE in the district.
