An Indian billionaire couple will splash out on hundreds of thousands of pounds for the Philhamonia Orchestra for Prince Charles’ 65th birthday bash in November.
The Prince of Wales – who is a patron of the London-based orchestra – will select the music himself and the whole set will focus on the German composer Wagner.
The couple – who live in the affluent area of Holland Park, central London – are involved in a number of charity projects through the Vandrevala foundation and are said to be rather friendly with Charles and his wife Duchess Camilla.
A spokesman for the Vandrevala Foundation is quoted the Indian Times newspaper as saying: “The evening connects with their philanthropic work as the Philharmonia Orchestra supports impoverished performers through its trust.”
