Anambra state House of Assembly today renewed the tenure of the Caretaker committee chairmen and members in the 21 local government areas of the state amidst mixed reactions from some sections of the state.

Among the transition chairmen were chief Daza Udeozor (Njikoka), Idu Okosi (Onitsha North), Titus Anigbogu (Aguata), Violet Onyejiegbu (Ekwusigo)  and Ugochukwu Ezeani ( Onitsha South).

The renewal of the tenure of the transition members for a period of another three months with effect from December 13, 2012 followed the expiration of the last three months tenure earlier approved by the lawmakers.

Before the House of Assembly approved the list which emanated from the executive arm of government, the speaker, Mrs Chinwe Nwebili had read a letter signed by the secretary to the state government, Mr Oseloka Obaze that appealed to the lawmakers to approve the list since their tenure had expired.

The speaker, upon the approval of the list by the whole House advised the committee members to keep up the good works they had been doing at the third tier of government that led to their reappointment.

Member representing Anambra west state constituency, Hon Jideofor Okoye who also aligned with his colleague appealed to all those in court against government over the conduct of council poll should quickly withdraw in the interest of the state.
