“I’m certain that he will be able to speak a bit when he comes to Germany in summer,” Rummenigge said at an event at Bocconi University in Milan.
The 56-year-old Ancelotti has already been confirmed as replacement for current coach Pep Guardiola, who will leave when his contract expires at the end of the season.
While Ancelotti is working on his language skills, Rummenigge added that, he has not prepared a wish-list of transfer targets.
“I have telephoned him but he has not sent me a shopping list for summer,” he said. “We have a quality team and he knows that.”
At the event Rummenigge also said he could imagine the creation of a pan-European league for top clubs and expressed admiration for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, though he played down the possibility of a transfer.
