Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has responded to criticism following a challenging debut season at the club, acknowledging mistakes as an inevitable part of life.

Onana, who signed a five-year contract with Manchester United last summer, endured a difficult first season, conceding over 50 goals.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper admitted to errors contributing to goals against teams like Bayern Munich in the Champions League, preventing United from advancing to the knockout stages.

“Mistakes are inevitable in life. Who doesn’t make mistakes? I’ve already learned from them and take full responsibility. My track record speaks for itself,” Onana stated.

He also discussed the adjustment period to life in Manchester, noting, “Moving to a new country takes time. It took me six months to settle in and feel comfortable, not just okay.”

Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Onana emphasized the need for resilience and character on the field. “This season will be tough, but we must show much character on the pitch.”

Currently on a preseason tour in the United States with his teammates, Onana expressed optimism about overcoming last season’s challenges and focusing on the future.

The comments by Onana reflect his determination to overcome setbacks and contribute positively to Manchester United’s upcoming campaign.
