Angola registered a growth rate of 2.4 percent in the first quarter of the year, according to the country’s Minister of Economy and Planning Mario Caetano, while speaking on the sidelines of the 5th Ordinary Session of the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers Tuesday in Luanda, capital of Angola.

According to the official, the growth of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) was driven by the positive performance rates of 1.9 percent in the oil sector and 2.8 percent in the non-oil sector.

Minister Caetano highlighted that the economic growth expectation could remain along 2022 forecasts, at a rate of 2.7 percent, similarly influenced by the oil sector at 2.1 percent and the non-oil sector at 3.2 percent. Enditem
