Angola’s inflation rate rose 2.14 percent between August and September, the National Statistics Institute of Angola (INE) announced Tuesday.

According to INE’s monthly report on inflation, this is the third highest monthly increase in the year, compared with the minimum values recorded in May (1.60 percent) and June (1.52 percent).

The peak of monthly inflation in Angola in recent years was in July 2016, when within a month, according to INE, prices increased by an average of 4 percent.

Since September 2014 and until the end of 2016, inflation in Angola had continued to increase, following the worsening of the economic, financial and foreign exchange crisis caused by the drop in the international price of crude oil. Enditem
