Anne Hathaway has struggled with what she perceives as a bland image in the past.
Anne, who has enjoyed huge successes in 2012 thanks to an array of challenging and critically acclaimed parts, also admitted that she doesn?t feel particularly hip.
?I?m not Rihanna. I?m not cool. When people come up to me in the street, they often want a hug not a photo, and they want that because they like my work,? she explained.
?For a long time it was me and her (her manager) against the world. I was seen as this bizarre-world good-girl cartoon that I in no way identified with ? very vanilla, very sweet, very accessible and not interesting. I had no grit, no sex appeal.?
The 30-year-old star?s blissful love life is making her struggle to play ?sad? parts.
The actress married her husband Adam Shulman in September 2012 and is so smitten she found it difficult to portray famished prostitute Fantine in the movie adaptation of Les Mis?rables.
The brunette beauty added that she knew immediately upon meeting her spouse that he was The One.
?He walks into a room, and I light up. I can?t help it. A few days into it (filming Les Mis?rables) I said ?I?m having too much fun, I just want to play with you and I need to be really sad right now,?? she told the latest issue of Harper?s Bazaar.
?I knew from the second I met him that he was the love of my life.?
