PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN RECEIVING THE REPORT OF 2011 HAJJ FROM SULTAN OF SOKOTO AND LEADER OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DELEGATION TO THE HAJJ, ALHAJI SA?AD ABUBAKAR TODAY TUESDAY AT THE STATE HOUSE IN ABUJA

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has called on the Senator representing Sokoto Central, Ahmad Maccido to desist from making ?unguarded? utterances that portrays the Sultanate as partisan.

APC made the call in a statement signed by its state interim publicity secretary, Sidi Aliyu Lamido, yesterday.

The party said Maccido made some reckless statements in an interview he granted newsmen recently, where he created the impression of partisanship by the Sultanate and made an inference that the senatorial seat that he occupies is the prerogative of the Sultanate and his stay in the PDP was sanctioned by the Sultanate.

The state  APC  which  described the senator?s statement  as vain and incendiary talks reminded the Senator that the caliphate had  always been in the vanguard for the promotion of moral and ethical values of justice, equity in leadership and had shunned and resisted triviality, oppression, cowardice and flippancy of office throughout history and advised him to emulate the great and endearing qualities of the past and present leaders of the caliphate by being truthful and courageous.

?The Sokoto people like all democratic societies attach a lot of premium on the performance of political office holders in their choice of candidates at the polls and would not be hoodwinked by the cowardly antics of  politicians and the PDP,? the party said.

The Sokoto APC also advised Maccido to  deploy his energy to the demanding legislative duties so that he may effectively represent his constituency.

The Sultanate Council, at the weekend, also dissociated itself from statements credited to Senator Maccido.
