The All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA), still smarting from its exploits in Anambra state and the change of guards at the leadership with the takeover by Chief Maxi Okwu executive, has declared that it wants nothing less than a clean sweep of all seats in future elections in Anambra state.
Addressing journalists shortly after the inauguration of the Local Government Coordinators of the Al-Mustapha Peace/Unity Development Initiative in Awka yesterday, the state party chairman Shedrack Ndubisi Anakwue charged them to guard their loins firmly or be ready to resign.
Anakwue who is the state Coordinator of the group said he takes time to accept a position because he usually put in his best, hence do not take anything less from his followers. That he was ready to resign his positions as party chairman of APGA if the party fails to win all the 3 Senatorial seats, 11 House of Representatives ?and 30 state Assembly seats in the coming ?2015 general election.
He said that is the target of the party in the state.
On the Al-Mustapha Peace/Unity Development Initiative, the coordinator said the ideals and aim of the group was to foster peace and unity in all states of the federation in the forthcoming general elections and beyond. And charged the coordinators down the line to attract and mobilize members of all ages, gender and class to spread and imbibe peace all over the nation.
?He extended the wish of the members of the group in inviting Al-Mustapha in whose behest the Initiative was established to come to the state to familiarize with the citizens.
Arinze Nwankwo who is the Coordinator of the group in Orumba North said that for the nation to grow and develop, there was a strong need for peace to be enthroned. He therefore proposed for all regions and geopolitical zones of the nation to pull resources together.
Another chieftain of the group, Patrick Nwabufo appealed to citizens nationwide to educate and mobilize other citizens towards united and cohesive polity for good governance as envisaged by the nation’s forefathers.
