Residents of Appolonia in the Kpone-Katamanso district of the Greater Accra Region are continuing living in fear with the constant deployment of armed land-guards by Seth Classic and Engineering Limited, an estate developing company at Atadeka to intimidate, harass and beat up people in the community.

According to reliable information from the area, these land-guards who have been brought into the area, most at times engage in shoot outs and beating of residents, which generate fear and panic in the people living in the area.

This development got worsened following shootings by land guards believed to be attached to Seth Classic and Engineering Limited, an estate developing company who were purportedly armed to the teeth.

Information is that these armed-guards have beaten up several people mercilessly, vandalized properties and frustrated people from embarking on any developmental project on their own lands.

In their bid to carry out their masters bidding, these armed land-guards fired gunshots and allegedly robbery in Appolonia.

However, five suspects have been arrested by the Tema Regional police in connection with the incident and identified as Kwarayile Kudumorow aka Kampala, 20, private security man; Manase Ofoe Amemador aka Abour, 35; Bouncer, Issah Iddrisu aka Rasta, 20, mechanic and one Farouk who was arrested later.

This paper has established that, the suspected land-guards allegedly shot workers of ETODAD Company, injuring six, who were rushed to the Tema General Hospital where they were treated and some of them discharged.

Speaking to some residents of the area, they espoused that Setho Classic Company always employ the services of these land-guard to attack them anytime they are working on their land with AK 47 assault rifles, pump action guns, machetes and clubs.

They are suspecting that the recent action by the land-guards which led to several people sustaining various degrees of injury was aided by Seth Kwame Sallah, the Chief Executive Officer of Setho Classic Company and Engineering Limited.

The residents noted that during the incident, the Chief Executive Officer of Setho Classic Company and Engineering Limited was seen storming the area with land-guards who began firing indiscriminately without any provocation and thereafter, robbed workers of five motorbikes, cash and mobile phones.

They pointed out that, the lawless behavior of Mr. Sallah and his rampant destruction of peoples’ properties with the help of armed land-guards has created tension and uneasiness within the area with residents living in extreme fear.
