Jules Nkansah, a Ghanaian author would on April 2 launch his book, “Love to Excel”, to provide technical skills to young professionals and university students who yearn to enter into entrepreneurship and the job market.

The book is a financial modelling masterclass that would upgrade prospective users to become versatile in Microsoft Excel and improve proficiency in a world of increasing business analytics.

Mr Nkansah in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said: “the book unpacks the power of Microsoft Excel using a simple, practical and non-intimidating approach, which introduces readers to Excel through one of its most practical uses.

“It considers the art of rendering numbers in Excel to depict a real-life business or personal situation to enable decision-making and planning.”

He said the book would help develop a simple profit and loss model for a street food business to a full market size of an entrepreneurial idea and would build the confidence of readers to surmount increasingly complex challenges in Excel.

Mr Nkansah said: “I have witnessed the power of Microsoft Excel as a tool for business and everyday life, and I’m passionate about bringing its transformative power to every young graduate and professional in Africa, hence the book.

“I hope all who encounter Love to Excel will feel more empowered as they go about applying it to their professional and everyday lives.”

He said at the launch would be a cross-session of guests from business and academia and the guest speaker would be Mr Frank Adu Junior, the Managing Director of Cal Bank

Speaking with the GNA Mr Adu Jr said: “Most books on financial modelling and Microsoft Excel are written by foreigners with foreign examples; however the “Love to Excel” is easy to follow and provides case studies relevant to our African context.

“This book should become the go-to for professors, students and young or seasoned professionals seeking skills development or upgrade to stay relevant in their workplaces.”

The author of the book has vast experience across finance, strategy and marketing and holds an MBA from INSEAD in France, a dual undergraduate degree; a Bachelor of Arts from Occidental College, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management Systems (Operations Research), at Columbia University, New York.

Over his 12-year career, Jules Nkansah has worked with top global institutions including Citigroup and Vodafone in the United States and Ghana respectively.
