PYONGYANG — The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has test-fired “new-type anti-air guided rockets” under the observation of its top leader Kim Jong Un, the country’s official KCNA news agency reported Saturday.

ANKARA — One person was killed and 11 others wounded in a car bomb attack by members of the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) against a recruitment office in southeastern Turkey on Friday, private Dogan news agency reported on Saturday.

HERAT, Afghanistan — Eleven people were killed and six others sustained injuries as two mini-buses collided in the western Herat province, a spokesman for the provincial government said Saturday.

DAMASCUS — The Syrian warplanes on Saturday struck positions of the Islamic State (IS) group in the countryside of the recently-captured Palmyra city in central Syria, as the ground forces uncovered a mass grave burying the bodies of at least 40 people, state news agency SANA said.

KUALA LUMPUR — Four Malaysian crewmen were abducted in waters off the country’s Sabah state on North Borneo, near southern Philippines, police said Saturday.
