Former Black Stars player Augustine Arhinful has backed Baba Rahman’s decision to join German side Shalke04 on loan from English Premier League side Chelsea.

According to the former Ankaragücü player, Baba made a good decision by joining the former German champions on a season-long loan.

“Those who are saying Baba [Rahman] should have stayed in Chelsea probably do not understand football because he joined Chelsea very late last season and did not have preseason with them, and so, he faced difficulties catching up with them. Eventually, he had playing time. [In] some of the games he did well,[in] others he did not do well and now he has an opportunity to play at Schalke. He has played in Germany before, so the clubs know him very well and if I were him, I would have signed a two-year loan [agreement] before going back to England,” he told Class Sports.

Rahman revealed that new coach Antonio Conte decided that he spent the upcoming season on loan.
