Arsense Wenger has made his first signing of the window as Arsenal finalised the deal for Bosnian Sead Kolasinac to move to North London on a two-year deal.
The move ends months of speculation that Arsene Wenger was interested in the big left back who turns 24 on June 20.
Kolasinac arrives from Schalke in the Bundesliga, where he has spent his whole professional career to date. He made a total of 117 appearances for the club, 94 in the league a further 23 in the Champions League and Europa League.
The left back carries an impressive set of stats to North London. He was the only defender, aside Markus Suttner, to produce five assists in the Bundesliga in 2016/17. He also bagged an impressive 8 goals in the season.
The only Bundesliga defenders to beat Sead’s tally of eight goals or assists in 2016/17 were Raphael Guerreiro and Markus Suttner (9).
Kolasinac is yet to make a senior appearance for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football. He however made youth appearances for the national German youth side.
Sead cannot move to Arsenal as yet. Till June 30, he remains a Schalke player. He will officially join Arsenal on July 1 when the transfer window officially opens.
